Position and Holding Time Rules
BitFrog Prop accounts use isolated margin. An account may have at most five open positions at once. Once that limit is reached, it cannot open another position, but existing positions may be reduced or closed and open orders may be canceled.
| Product | Minimum holding time per position | Maximum holding time per position |
|---|---|---|
| 2-Step | 10 seconds | 7 calendar days |
| 1-Step | 10 seconds | None |
| Instant | 10 seconds | None |
Holding time starts when the opening order executes. For 2-Step, the system closes a position when its maximum holding period is reached. The actual closing price, fees, and P&L still affect account equity.
TIP
A 2-Step valid trading day has two additional requirements: a position must be held for more than 10 seconds, and the day's total executed notional value must reach 20% of account size. Do not confuse the 10-second minimum holding rule with the separate valid trading day test. See Profit Targets and Valid Trading Days.
A position does not close automatically merely because it crosses 00:00 (UTC+8). Its unrealized P&L continues to affect account equity, and 2-Step and 1-Step must also remain within the new day's maximum daily loss limit. See Maximum Daily Loss and Maximum Account Loss.
