Maximum Account Loss and the 5% Profit Milestone
Instant has no maximum daily loss limit, but account equity must stay above the applicable maximum account loss threshold at all times. The first time equity reaches 105% of its initial value, payout eligibility is activated and the loss threshold changes and becomes fixed.
Before the 5% Profit Milestone
The initial maximum account loss is 10% of initial account equity:
Initial loss threshold = initial account equity × 90%
Until equity reaches the 5% profit milestone, this threshold determines whether the maximum account loss rule has been breached.
After the 5% Profit Milestone
When account equity first reaches initial account equity × 105%, payout eligibility is activated. At that moment, the new threshold is calculated as 95% of equity at the time the milestone is triggered. It then stays fixed, even if equity subsequently rises.
Example
For an account with initial equity of 10,000 USDT:
| Event | Calculation | Maximum account loss threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Account opens | 10,000 × 90% | 9,000 USDT |
| Equity first reaches 10,500 USDT | 10,500 × 95% | 9,975 USDT; fixed from then on |
WARNING
The 5% milestone activates payout eligibility and changes the loss threshold. It does not make the initial account amount withdrawable. A payout must still meet Payout Rules and Request Process, and equity after the request must remain above the current loss threshold.
Overnight Positions and Payouts
Instant has no daily loss calculation to reset at 00:00 (UTC+8). Unrealized P&L on positions held across that time remains part of account equity, which is checked against the current loss threshold.
Before requesting a payout, make sure equity will remain above the threshold after the requested amount is locked. See Payout Amount, Profit Share, and Account Balance for how eligible amounts, profit share, and account equity are treated. If equity reaches or falls below the threshold, Account Termination Rules apply; a later price rebound does not reverse the trigger.
