WARNING
Note:
The Maximum Daily Loss resets every day, but the Maximum Account Loss does not reset.
Calculation Time
- The Maximum Daily Loss is calculated using the platform's UTC+8 system time.
- If you are in a different time zone, please convert the UTC+8 reset time accordingly.
- If a specific reset time is displayed on your account page, the displayed information shall prevail.
Maximum Daily Loss Calculation
Formula:
Maximum Daily Loss = Account Size × Maximum Daily Loss Percentage
Calculation Example
Assume your Account Size is 10,000 USDT, and your Maximum Daily Loss Percentage is 5%.
Your Maximum Daily Loss is calculated as:
10,000 USDT × 5% = 500 USDT
This example is provided for illustration purposes only. The actual percentage and calculation method are subject to the information displayed on the product page.
Unrealized P&L
Both realized and unrealized P&L are included in the Maximum Daily Loss calculation.
The unrealized loss of open positions is combined with realized losses when calculating your daily loss.
If your Account Equity (including unrealized P&L) falls below the Maximum Daily Loss limit, the risk limit is breached.
Overnight Positions
Holding positions overnight does not reset unrealized P&L. Your Account Equity continues to fluctuate with market prices.
Maximum Daily Loss
Calculated from the Daily Initial Equity Snapshot taken at 00:00 (UTC+8).
Daily Loss = Daily Initial Equity Snapshot − Current Account Equity
Maximum Account Loss
Calculated from the account's initial capital and tracked throughout the lifetime of the account.
Maximum Account Loss = Initial Account Capital − Current Account Equity
Example 1: Unrealized Loss Carried Overnight, Followed by Further Losses
Assume the following account settings:
Initial Account Capital: 10,000 USDT
Maximum Daily Loss: 500 USDT
Maximum Account Loss: 1,000 USDT
On July 6, The account has an unrealized loss of 200 USDT, reducing Account Equity to 9,800 USDT. The Daily Loss is 200 USDT. And the Maximum Account Loss is 200 USDT.
On July 7, 00:00 (UTC+8), the system records a Daily Initial Equity Snapshot of 9,800 USDT. The 200 USDT unrealized loss from July 6 is not counted again toward the Maximum Daily Loss for July 7.
On July 7, the account incurs an additional 300 USDT loss, reducing Account Equity to 9,500 USDT.
- Daily Loss: 9,800 − 9,500 = 300 USDT
Maximum Daily Loss not breached. - Maximum Account Loss: 10,000 − 9,500 = 500 USDT
Maximum Account Loss not breached.
Example 2: Unrealized Profit Held Overnight, Followed by a Pullback
Assume the following account settings:
Initial Account Capital: 10,000 USDT
Maximum Daily Loss: 500 USDT
Maximum Account Loss: 1,000 USDT
On July 6, the account has an unrealized profit of 500 USDT, increasing Account Equity to 10,500 USDT. The Daily Loss is 0 USDT. And the Maximum Account Loss is 0 USDT.
On July 7, 00:00 (UTC+8), the system records a Daily Initial Equity Snapshot of 10,500 USDT.
On July 7, the unrealized profit decreases to 200 USDT, reducing Account Equity to 10,200 USDT.
- Daily Loss: 10,500 − 10,200 = 300 USDT
Maximum Daily Loss not breached. - Maximum Account Loss: 10,000 − 10,200 = 0 USDT
Maximum Account Loss not breached.
Summary
Maximum Daily Loss is measured from the Daily Initial Equity Snapshot at 00:00 (UTC+8).
Maximum Account Loss is measured from the account's initial capital and never resets.
Unrealized losses from previous days are not counted twice. However, any decline from the new day's equity snapshot is included in that day's Maximum Daily Loss.
Common Misconceptions
- If your Daily Loss reaches or exceeds the Maximum Daily Loss limit, your account will immediately enter the liquidation process, the challenge will fail, and the account will be revoked.
- For more information, see Risk Management Rules.
- The Maximum Daily Loss resets at the beginning of each trading day. However, the Maximum Account Loss (for example, 10%) does not reset and continues to accumulate throughout the lifetime of the account.
- As a result, after a new trading day begins, both the unrealized P&L of open positions and realized losses continue to affect your Maximum Account Loss until the account is closed or the Maximum Account Loss limit is breached.
