Key Rules to Know
Before participating in BitFrog prop trading, please understand the following:
- Trading involves risk. An account may be terminated for reaching a loss limit or breaching the rules.
- BitFrog does not guarantee that users will pass a challenge, receive a payout, or make a profit.
- Unrealized P&L, trading fees, and funding fees all affect account equity.
- Extreme market conditions, insufficient liquidity, and price gaps may cause execution prices to differ from expectations.
- Reaching a challenge profit target does not guarantee approval; the review requirements must also be met.
- Payouts are subject to the applicable product's waiting period, trading day requirements, minimum amount, and account status requirements.
- Users should independently confirm whether the services are permitted in their country or region.
WARNING
Read the applicable challenge rules and service agreement before purchasing. Completing a purchase indicates that you understand and accept the rules displayed on the purchase page.
Key Rule: The Nature of Account Funds
Challenge Account Stage
During Stage One and Stage Two of 2-Step, and the single challenge stage of 1-Step, users receive challenge accounts. The funds displayed in a challenge account are used only to calculate profits and losses. Account funds cannot be withdrawn directly, and challenge-stage profits are not eligible for payouts.
Funded Account Stage
After passing the challenge and completing the review, users enter the funded account stage. A funded account represents funding provided under the rules of the BitFrog prop trading platform. Users cannot withdraw the account funds directly. Only the share of profits eligible under platform rules can be requested as a payout.
Key Rule: 2-Step/1-Step Maximum Daily Loss and Maximum Account Loss
Both 2-Step and 1-Step have maximum daily loss and maximum account loss rules. Triggering either rule will terminate the challenge and the account.
Example:
Consider a 2-Step challenge account with an initial account size of 10,000 USDT, a maximum daily loss of 5%, and a maximum account loss of 10%:
- Maximum daily loss: Initial account size × 5% = 500 USDT. The rule is triggered when the daily loss reaches 500 USDT. The calculation includes unrealized P&L on current positions.
- Maximum account loss: Initial account size × 10% = 1,000 USDT. The rule is triggered when account equity falls to 9,000 USDT, a decline of 1,000 USDT from the initial 10,000 USDT.
The two limits are assessed independently. Triggering either one terminates the account.
TIP
Control your daily losses. For example, if the day's loss reaches 450 USDT, you can stop trading to avoid moving closer to the 500 USDT maximum daily loss limit, then resume after the daily loss allowance resets at 00:00 (UTC+8). This helps you make full use of the risk allowance provided by the maximum account loss limit.
Key Rule: The Instant 5% Profit Milestone
When an Instant account first reaches a 5% profit, payout access is enabled and the maximum account loss threshold is raised to 95% of the account equity at the time the milestone is triggered.
Example:
For an Instant account of 10,000 USDT, the 5% profit milestone is triggered when account equity first reaches 10,500 USDT:
- Payout access is enabled: Payout requests can then be submitted subject to the application conditions.
- The maximum account loss threshold is raised and locked: New maximum account loss threshold = 10,500 USDT × 95% = 9,975 USDT. This threshold is permanently fixed and no longer changes with account equity.
If the market reverses immediately after the account reaches the 5% profit milestone and the loss threshold rises, account equity may quickly reach the new threshold, terminating the account.
When purchasing an Instant account, users are informed of this rule and must select a position-handling strategy in advance for when the 5% profit milestone is reached: close all positions (default), close 50% of positions, or receive a notification only. We recommend closing all positions or closing 50%. The image below illustrates the strategy selection at purchase:

TIP
Build a Profit Buffer to Create More Trading Room
An Instant account can gradually build a profit buffer through disciplined trading, increasing the distance between account equity and the fixed loss threshold. This provides more room for subsequent trading and ongoing payouts. For example, increasing the equity of an account with an initial size of 10,000 USDT to 15,000 USDT widens the gap between equity and the fixed loss threshold. Even after building a profit buffer, trade cautiously and plan payouts in line with account equity.
